SOURCING
LASSO is a brand you can trust and we’re all about transparency - you’ll never find a gum, refined sugar or artificial color on our label. We’ve worked hard to intentionally source quality ingredients rooted in real nutrition.
Gelatin gives LASSO its signature jiggle and satisfying texture. While other companies opt for gums, carrageenan, or undisclosed gelatin sources, we chose the most intentional gelling agent and source it from grass fed cattle. Gelatin is a protein derived from collagen and is widely used as a gelling agent in foods. It’s a traditional ingredient that’s been used in food for generations–simple, familiar, and functional, while contributing naturally occurring amino acids as part of the overall protein content.
Collagen is a structural protein naturally present in the human body and a traditional component of many foods. It’s composed primarily of amino acids like glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline—amino acids that play an important role in the body’s overall protein makeup and are less abundant in many modern diets.
At LASSO, we use collagen sourced from pasture-raised, grass-fed cattle as part of a thoughtfully balanced protein profile. It’s a familiar, time-tested ingredient that reflects a more traditional approach to nourishment—simple, intentional, and grounded in real food.
Whey protein is a complete protein containing all nine essential amino acids. Sourced from grass-fed dairy, it’s clean-tasting, highly digestible, and helps make LASSO a more satisfying snack.
Agave inulin is a plant-derived prebiotic fiber sourced from the agave plant. It’s a gentle, soluble fiber that helps contribute to daily fiber intake while fitting seamlessly into LASSO’s smooth texture.
Cassava root fiber is a plant-derived dietary fiber sourced from the cassava root (the same vegetable used to make tapioca). It’s a neutral, smooth-textured fiber that helps provide structure while contributing to daily fiber intake.
Apple juice concentrate adds a touch of fruit-forward flavor and natural sweetness. It’s used thoughtfully, in small amounts, to enhance taste without overpowering the finished product.
Natural flavors are used to round out and balance each recipe. They’re derived from natural sources, without synthetic processing, and help bring out the familiar, comforting flavors you expect from LASSO.
Stevia and monk fruit extract are plant-derived sweeteners that provide balanced sweetness without relying on artificial sweeteners. Used together, they allow the flavors to shine while keeping sweetness light and clean. We use a premium version of Stevia that lacks the licorice taste you might get from Stevia in other products.
Citric acid is found naturally in citrus fruits and is used to balance flavor. It adds a gentle brightness that keeps each cup tasting fresh.
Fruit and vegetable juices provide subtle, naturally derived color. It’s a simple way to give LASSO its inviting look—without artificial dyes.
